Replication of the XMS Server’s database
Verify the servers’ dongles Machine IDs
Each XMS server must have a dongle with a matching Machine ID (also known as
Customer IDs). It is of paramount importance because when failed over, client applications
must be able to connect without licensing issues.
To ensure that the two (2) dongles that are installed on the servers have identical
Machine IDs:
1.
On the primary server, open the Xmedia Server Control Panel.
2. Select the L ICENSING tab (figure 6 ).
3. Select S OFTKEYS from the L ICENSE SERVER OPTIONS drop-down list.
4. Take note of the Machine ID number.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 on the secondary server.
6. Confirm that the Machine IDs are an exact match. If they are not, contact one of our
technical services representative.
