Restrictions on the LoopRec setting

Restrictions on the LoopRec setting

If the LoopRec setting is turned on, the controller performs recording while extending
the record train after every three minutes. These seams are called "steps" and a record
train contains "steps" by a percentage of once in every three minutes. Due to this
recording method, the following restrictions are applied when the LoopRec setting is
turned on:

1) MXF and Quick Time formats are not supported when transferring items with the

SEND function, storing items to a library, or exporting items. Only GXF format is
supported when the LoopRec setting is turned on.

2) Marks or scenes cannot be stored directly to a playlist. You must first store them to

a highlight before storing them to a playlist.

3) When trimming an event in a highlight or playlist, In or Out point modifications

that include any three-minute "step" are not allowed for an operation to cue up to
the item side to perform trimming.

a) When changing an In/Out point by moving the playback pointer to a highlight

or event item, trimming to extend and include any "step" is not allowed. If you
perform trimming that includes any "step", only an extension to the "step" is
performed in fact. When the values of the configured In/Out points and those of
the extended actual In/Out points are different, a warning mark is displayed next
to "In", "Out", and "Dur" in the trim mode screen.Be sure to check the item after
trimming when a warning mark is displayed.

b) If you want to perform trimming that includes any "step", you can perform a

match frame operation to the record train to perform trimming without the
"step" restrictions. For more information on how to use the match frame
function, see

"Match frame operations from highlights to the record train" on

page 104

or

"Match frame operations from playlists to the record train" on

page 121

.

c) After you perform trimming that will shorten and include a "step", you can

perform an extension only to the In/Out point of the included "step" even if you
try to restore the In/Out point prior to the trimming.
