link where the main interface resides fails, and data cannot be transmitted, the interface backup brings
up a backup interface to transmit data, thus enhancing the reliability of the network.
Associate a backup interface with a track entry so that the backup interface can detect the status of the
main interface based on that of the track entry and change its backup status accordingly.
•
If the status of the track entry is Positive, then the link where the main interface resides works
normally, and the backup interfaces stay in the backup state.
•
If the status of the track entry is Negative, then the link where the main interface resides failed, and
a backup interface will turn to the main interface to take on data transmission.
•
During the configuration, if the track entry is in the Invalid state, it indicates that the track entry
association has not taken effect yet; each interface keeps its original forwarding state. After the
configuration, if the status of the track entry turns to Invalid, a backup interface becomes the main
interface.
Follow these steps to configure the track-interface backup collaboration:

NOTE:
•
You can associate an interface with only one track entry. If you execute the standby track command
repeatedly, the latter configuration overwrites the former.
•
The track entry to be associated with the interface can be a nonexistent one. After you use the track
command to create the track entry, the association takes effect.
