Introduction to CLI
CLI is an interaction interface between devices and users. At the CLI, you can configure your devices by
entering commands and view the output information and verify your configurations, thus facilitating your
configuration and management of your devices.
CLI provides the following features for configuration and management of your devices:
•
Hierarchical command protection, where you can only execute the commands at your own or lower
levels. See
for more information.
•
Easy access to on-line help by entering ?. See
for more information.
•
Abundant debugging information for fault diagnosis
•
Saving and executing commands that have been executed
•
Fuzzy match for convenience of input. When you execute a command, you can input part of the
characters in a keyword. However, to enable you to confirm your operation, the command can be
executed only when you input enough characters to make the command unique. Take the
commands save, startup saved-configuration, and system-view which start with s as an
example. To save the current configuration, input sa at least; to set the configuration file for next
startup, input st s at least; to enter system view, input sy at least. You can press Tab to complement
the command, or you can input the complete command.
