Establishing an SOL Session
To start a SOL session, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
An Ethernet LAN connection to the CaveCreek Ethernet controller of the ATCA-7470 must
exist.
ATCA-7470 IPMC FW must correspond to version 2.00.8 and above.
Procedure
To establish a SOL session, proceed as follows:
1. Make sure that the requirements detailed above are fulfilled.
2. Compile and install the ipmitool on your target which is destined for opening the
SOL session on the ATCA-7470. For details refer to

3. Apply an IP address to the ATCA-7470 SOL interface - for details refer to
4. If necessary change user and password.
Default user is "soluser" and password is "solpasswd".
5. Configure the network between the ATCA-7470 and your target, which is destined
for opening the SOL session, so that the SOL IP address is accessible.
MAC Address 00:00:00:00:00:00 means the address is shared between base and SOL
interface. The address can be found out in the MAC address record of the FRU.
