The Passwords Configuration menu is shown in Figure 9.

4. Type 1 to select Set Manager Password.
The following prompt is displayed:
Enter Current Manager Password ->
5. Type the current manager password (the default is “friend”) and press
Return.
The following prompt is displayed:
Enter New Manager Password ->
6. When prompted, re-enter the new password.
7. Type 2 to select Set Operator Password.
The following prompt is displayed:
Enter New Operator Password ->
8. Type the current operator password (the default is “friend”) and press
Return.
Note
A password can be from 0 to 16 alphanumeric characters. Passwords
are case sensitive. You should not use spaces or special characters,
such as asterisks (*) or exclamation points (!), in a password if you are
managing the switch from a web browser. Many web browsers
cannot handle special characters in passwords.
