The SMC6824MPE’s CLI configuration program, Web interface, and
SNMP agent allow you to perform the following management functions:
• Set user names and passwords
• Control port access through IEEE 802.1x security or static address
filtering
• Set an IP interface for a management VLAN
• Configure SNMP parameters
• Enable/disable any port
• Set the speed/duplex mode for any port
• Power attached devices using IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet
(PoE)
• Configure the bandwidth of any port by rate limiting
• Configure up to 255 IEEE 802.1Q VLANs
• Enable GVRP automatic VLAN registration
• Configure IGMP multicast filtering
• Upload and download system firmware via TFTP
• Upload and download switch configuration files via TFTP
• Configure Spanning Tree parameters
• Configure Class of Service (CoS) priority queuing
• Configure up to six static or LACP trunks
• Filter packets using Access Control Lists (ACLs)
• Enable port mirroring
• Set broadcast storm control on any port
• Display system information and statistics
