Interface Designation

 The system-assigned name based on the network interface type selected.

Interface Type

 The network interface is categorized into three types:

 Local Area Network (LAN)
 Wide Area Network (WAN)
 Demilitarized Zone (DMZ)

Connection Type (As Interface Type set to LAN)

 It has three connection types, namely:

NAT Routing: Allows private IP addresses (not-in-use ones) to be

translated into public addresses based on network policy.

Transparent Bridging: Allows internal users to access a specific

networking device in a different network based on network policy through

the default gateway. Note: This mode requires configuring Interface Group

settings under Network.

Transparent Routing: Provides internal users with direct access to the

Internet due to being in the same subnet range.

IPv4 Settings

 Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) is the fourth revision in the development of the

Internet Protocol (IP) and it is by far the most widely deployed Internet Layer

protocol.

 IPv4 addresses are written in dot-decimal notation, which consists of the four

octets of the address expressed in decimal and separated by periods, such as

192.168.1.1.

 Please configure the IPv4 Address, Netmask and MAC Address fields

according to your network topology.

IPv6 Settings

 Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is called the “IP Next Generation” (IPng),

which is designed to fix the shortcomings of IPv4, such as data security and

maximum number of user addresses. It is backward compatible and thus

expected to slowly replace IPv4, with the two existing side by side for many

years.
