Terms in Setting
Anti-Virus Settings
Scans inbound and outbound emails for viruses.
Virus definitions can be updated periodically or can be instantly updated
manually. After each update, it will show the definition version and updated time
Available virus-scanning engines are:
ClamAV─The default and free of charge virus-scanning engine.
Sophos─The purchase of an end-user license is required for legal use.
Note:
1. To assure the CS-2001 is updated successfully, click Test Connection to check whether the
connection to the virus definition server works before running the update.
2. Once the Proxy Server is deployed, the proxy settings under System > Configuration >
Settings must be configured for the CS-2001 to access the Internet.
SMTP Options (For a virus infected email sent from a user)
Virus emails sent from an external user to the internal mail server or sent from
internal user to external user can be deleted, delivered to the recipient (deliver an
email notification istead) or stored in the quarantine.
POP3 Options (For a virus infected email sent to a user)
Virus emails from external mail server to an internal user or from internal mail
server to an external user can be delivered to the recipient (or deliver an email
notification istead) or stored in the quarantine.
Go to Mail Security > Anti-Virus > Settings and then set as below:
Select ClamAV for Scanning Engine.
Under the SMTP Options section, tick Deliver the email to the
recipient and select Deliver an email notification instead.
Click OK.
