Q.3 Working Mode = Managed Switch Mode

The Figure Q-4 example shows the active Working Mode as Router – Point to Point. You must
change your active Working Mode to Managed Switch.
1. To change your active Working Mode:
• From the Serial CLI Main Menu, press ‘A’ to open the Administration Menu.
• On the Administration menu, press ‘C’ to display the Working Mode choices. Press ‘5’ to
select Managed Switch Working Mode.
2. Enable your specific mode of Managed Switch Dedicated Management Port operation. As
shown previously in Figure Q-3:
• On the Ethernet Interface menu, press ‘D’ to display the Dedicated Management Port
operation choices; then, press ‘2’ for Local ONLY Mode, or press ‘3’ for Local & Remote
Mode.
In Managed Switch Mode, Dedicated Management Port operation does not require any
additional configuration. The previously configured Management IP Address will be assigned to
the ‘10/100 Ethernet | M&C 100’ (Dedicated Management) port. The ‘10/100 Ethernet | Traffic
100’ port, in Managed Switch Mode, does not require an IP address.
