On the bottom line: Use the

arrow keys to select the operating frequency for Side B:
C, X, Ku, or Ka-band.
Press ENTER when done.
For the CDM-570A only: On the top line, use the ▲▼arrow keys to select the specific CnC-
APC mode – the screen appearance updates accordingly:
Mode: APC,Side-A, C-band
Act?N APC is not active
Press ENTER after selecting the Side A frequency, and then repeat the process to select the
Side B frequency. Do not select Act? (Activate) as Y (Yes) at this time. Note the following:
• If Side A is selected at both sides, or Side B is selected at both sides, both modems
will display a Frame Sync fault (under Rx faults). No further action is possible until
this error has been corrected.
• If different satellite bands are selected on each side (for instance, Side A is Ku-Band,
while side B is C-Band) the modem will display an APC Band Mismatch fault (under
Rx faults). No further action is possible until this error has been corrected.
Based on the known RF terminal equipment in use, determine a value for the maximum
allowed power increase (TPLI
max
) and then set this value. From the CDM-570A front panel,
select the CONFIG Tx Pwr menu:

Manual AUPC CnC-APC
With APC mode activated, CnC-APC is the only selectable mode. Press ENTER to continue to
edit the Tx Pwr Level:
Tx Pwr Level: -35.0dBm
Max Pwr increase: 2.5dB
To edit the power output level and the maximum permitted increase in power level when
in CnC-APC Mode: On the top line, use the
▲▼
arrow keys to select the value (in dB) as
-00.0, -10.0, -20.0, or -25.0. Press ENTER when done.
Note that when APC is in an active state, the power level on the bottom line will read
‘AUTO’.
5) Go back to the SELECT: CONFIG: CnC MODE menu.
For the CDM-570AL only: On the bottom line, select Action and then press ENTER. Then,
use the

arrow keys to select select Activate.
