The Header Compression Refresh Rates are configured from the Administration page when
Header Compression is Enabled.
The Header Compression Refresh Rates determines how many compressed header packets are
sent before a single full header packet is sent. Some compressed header traffic could be lost
during deteriorated satellite link conditions. Sending a full header packet will allow the return of
the traffic stream.
The Refresh Rate can be decreased for poor satellite link conditions, or increased to further
reduce overhead.
You may select refresh rates, from 1 to 600, individually for UDP/RTP1, UDP, or all other IP
headers.
The default rate of 50 provides the best performance and efficiency for typical satellite links.
Payload Compression Refresh Rate
The Payload Compression Refresh Rates determines how many compressed payload packets are
sent before a single full payload packet is sent. Some compressed payload traffic could be lost
during deteriorated satellite link conditions. Sending a full payload packet will allow the return
of the traffic stream.
You may select a Refresh Rate from 1 to 600. The Refresh Rate can be decreased for poor
satellite link conditions or increased to further reduce overhead.
Telnet Timeout
The Packet Processor does not allow concurrent access to the CLI via Telnet and the
‘Console’ port. If you connect via Telnet, the Packet Processor automatically
disables the ‘Console’ port for the duration of the Telnet session. You may use Hot
Key ‘L’ (Telnet Logout) from any CLI page to end a Telnet session.
You may configure the Packet Processor to automatically end a Telnet session after a specified
period of inactivity (configurable from 1 to 60 minutes).
