10.2.1.1 SELECT: (Main) Menu

The table that follows identifies the commands comprising the CDM-570A main menu, and the
content section in this manual where explicit information may be referenced, either in this
chapter or in Chapter 6. FRONT PANEL OPERATION:

Use this menu branch to fully configure the modem.
Monitor
6.3.3
Use this menu branch to monitor the alarm status of the modem, to
view the log of stored events, and to display the Receive
Parameters screen.
Test

Use this menu branch to invoke one of several test modes
(loopbacks, for example).
Info
6.3.5
(Information) Use this menu branch to view information on the
modem, without having to go into configuration screens.
Save/Ld
6.3.6
Use this menu branch to save (store) and to load (retrieve) up to 10
different modem configurations.
Util
6.3.7
(Utility) Use this menu branch to perform miscellaneous functions,
such as setting the real-time clock, adjusting the display brightness,
etc.
ODU

(Outdoor Unit) Use this CDM-570A menu branch to monitor and
control a Comtech EF Data RF Transceiver (CSAT-5060 or
KST-2000A/B), if connected.
For ODU operation, use the
◄ ► arrow keys to select ODU, and then press ENTER.
10.2.1.2 (SELECT:) ODU
Transceiver Control:
Disable Enable (◄ ►,ENT)
Use the
◄ ► arrow keys to select Disable or Enable, and then press ENTER. Note the following:
Disable
This menu item turns OFF the FSK link to the ODU
Enable
This menu item turns ON the FSK link to the ODU.
The message “ATTEMPTING COMMUNICATION WITH ODU... PLEASE WAIT” displays while
the the CDM-570A senses and connects with the active ODU model. If no ODU is present, the
process aborts and the modem returns to the SELECT: ODU menu screen.
Otherwise, once a CSAT-5060 or KST2000A/B Transceiver successfully connects with the
modem via the FSK link, sections 10.2.1.3.1 and 10.2.1.2.2
in this chapter address the pertinent
front panel operation functionality. See Figure 10-3 and Figure 10-4 for the ODU-specific
CDM-570A menu tree diagrams.
