Virtual libraries (including D2D backup devices): no change
•
Tape drives
The LTO drive assessment test now checks the firmware version as new firmware is
available to improve the performance of marginal drives.
◦
◦
The support ticket highlights when an LTO drive assessment test has failed in the past
seven days.
◦
The support ticket shows whether barcode labels are correct for the cartridge type.
Messages indicate cartridges without barcode labels that were loaded anyway.
◦
Support tickets pulled from LTO 3 drives in EML and ESL-e libraries while the application
has the drive reserved will now clearly indicate that fact and make it clear that these
tickets have reduced information.
•
Tape libraries and autoloaders
The HP ESL G3 Tape Library is now supported.
◦
◦
Tickets returned from the ESL G3 using ‘debug mode’ will return detailed drive firmware
trace information but less of the standard ticket information. These tickets are still decoded
but will include messaging explaining that there is less than normal information in the
ticket. Debug mode tickets are intended for factory use only.
•
Operating system specific
◦
Linux — A native 64-bit version is now available, which eliminates the need to load 32-bit
libraries onto 64-bit systems.
•
Generic to tool
If there is an LSI controller in the system, L&TT now verifies that the registry is set up
correctly. If not, messages in the support ticket provides information about running a new
plug-in that configures the registry correctly.
◦
◦
The blue 'i's in the support ticket that indicated truncated lines have been removed. These
marks were distracting and unnecessarily drew attention to a very minor piece of
information.
•
Documentation — Most screenshots have been updated.
