Prime the System
Prime the system as necessary to remove air from the system’s
fluidic pathways after:
•
refilling the sheath container
•
removing and replacing the sheath container
•
changing the sheath fluid filter
•
changing the syringe seal
When priming, sheath fluid from the sheath fluid container is used.
You do not need to supply solution in a plate. Priming takes
approximately one minute.
To prime the system:
1. Click Prime. A confirmation dialog box appears to verify that
you want to prime the system.
2. Click OK to continue. The command list on the Run Batch tab
indicates that the system is priming. Upon completion, the
command list indicates whether the command succeeded with
green text or the command failed with red text.
Backflush the
System
Backflush the system to perform these tasks:
•
to remove obstructions from the cuvette
•
if fluid does not flow through the waste tubing during prime
cycles or during sample acquisition
•
if fluid drips from the Sample Probe during priming and forms
puddles of fluid on the plate
When backflushing, the system uses sheath fluid from the sheath
fluid container. You do not need to supply solution in a plate.
Backflushing takes about seven seconds.
To backflush obstructions from the cuvette:
1. Click Backflush. A confirmation dialog box appears verifying
that you want to backflush the system.
2. Click OK to continue. The command list on the Run Batch tab
indicates that the system is backflushing. Upon completion, the
command list indicates whether the command succeeded with
green text or the command failed with red text.
