7. Place the 20 liter sheath fluid box so that the cap is on top and
the box is approximately three feet below the SD system device
and the Luminex 100 analyzer (typically sitting on the floor).
8. Lower the stainless steel filter end of the sheath fluid line to the
bottom of a full box of sheath fluid. Secure the cap on the sheath
fluid box. Be sure to place the sheath fluid container so that the
cap is on the top.
9. Turn on the power to the SD system device. It automatically
primes itself and you hear the system pump turn on. When the
SD system device reservoir is about 3/4 full it automatically
stops priming.
10. Open the center access door on the Luminex 100 analyzer. Use a
screwdriver to turn the regulator clockwise one full turn. Close
the center access door.

11. From the Maintenance tab, select Prime. During this prime
cycle, use a screwdriver to adjust the regulator on the front of the
Luminex SD (picture not shown). From the Diagnostic tab,
adjust it until the sheath pressure displayed on the System
Monitor reads the same as the sheath pressure you recorded in
step 4. The system should stabilize at this sheath pressure. The
air pressure should be the same as you recorded in step 4, within
0.1 psi.
