If your system uses the Luminex Sheath Delivery system, see
“Luminex Sheath Delivery System” in the appendix for more
information about the Sheath Delivery system and its installation.
Sheath Fluid
Container (not
shown)
For proper operation, this container must be placed at the same
level as the base of the XYP instrument. The sheath fluid container
should not be placed on top of the Luminex 100 analyzer. The sheath
fluid level should be below the air inlet connection and above the
sheath outlet connection.
Waste Fluid
Container (not
shown)
This receives waste from the system. Waste levels must be
manually monitored—do not allow the waste container to
overflow! Empty the waste container each time the sheath fluid
container is filled. The waste container should not be placed on top
of the instrument.
Optical
The optical system consists of the optical assembly and the excitation
lasers. The optical assemblies do not require manual adjustment by
the user.
xMAP Reagents
The xMAP reagent system consists of classification xMAP
calibration microspheres, reporter xMAP calibration microspheres,
classification xMAP control microspheres, and reporter xMAP
control microspheres.
Note:
Sheath fluid levels
must be monitored
manually. Check the
sheath fluid level before
starting a run or
procedure.
Warning:
If biological samples have been tested with the system,
use your standard laboratory safety practices.
