This reverses the sheath flow and allows the reservoir to drain
slowly and completely.
SD system device is empty or does not fill.
• Verify that the SD system device is on a level surface and at the
same height as the Luminex 100 analyzer.
• Verify that the system is turned on and connected to a power
supply.
• Verify that the sheath, air, and waste tubings are correctly
connected to the Luminex 100 analyzer.
• Press the Prime button on the front of the SD system device.
• Cycle the power on the SD system device. The SD system device
should fill automatically with power on.
• Verify that the filter end of the sheath intake line is submerged in
sheath fluid.
• If the sheath fluid container is empty, insert the filtered end of
the sheath intake into a new container of sheath fluid and press
the Prime button on the front of the SD system device.
• If the sheath fluid intake line is submerged in sheath and the
alarm is sounding, the sheath filter may be clogged. Remove the
filter and select Prime. If the sheath fluid fills, the filter is
clogged, replace the filter.
SD system device overfilling.
• Verify that the SD system device is on a level surface and at the
same height as the Luminex 100 analyzer.
• If the SD system device is overfilled, verify that the sheath
container is below the level of the SD system device. Placing the
container at or above the level of the Luminex 100 analyzer can
cause the reservoir to overfill and trigger the alarm.
Fluid is leaking from the SD system device.
Record the serial number of the unit and contact Luminex Customer
Support.
