5.4 Eclipse MVX-A16 Card Xilinx FPGA Upgrade
5.4.1 Required Equipment
Upgrade of Xilinx images on Eclipse MVX cards requires the use of specialist
equipment and cannot be carried out in the field.
5.5 MVX-A16 Firmware Version Checking
5.5.1 Using the Matrix Event Log in ECS
It is necessary to connect to the frame using a Serial or Ethernet connection.
1. Open the Matrix Event Log window.
2. Click on the play button to stop logging. The “Request Info” button will be
displayed beside the play button.
3. Open the drop-down list in the right hand pane to display a list of available
frames. If there is only one frame in the configuration the box will be greyed
out.
4. Select the frame to be monitored from the drop-down list (unless greyed out).
5. Click the “Request Info” button to display the logging options.
6. Select “Matrix Overview” from the list.
7. Click the “Send” button.
8. Click on the “Play” button to enable logging.
A list of messages will be displayed and you should look for the line in the picture
below. This tells you what the current MVX version is** –
** Note: The picture above states MVX16A25 and the new version is MVX16A37.
5.5.2 Using TeraTerm
1. Install Tera-Term which is provided with the Eclipse CD:
InstallCD\3rd_Party_Software\Teraterm\ttermp23.zip
2. Open TeraTerm and select the following port settings.
