13 AES-6
13.1 AES-6 Application Upgrade
13.1.1 Important Information
Before attempting any upgrade, ensure that anti static precautions are taken, as the
Eclipse items are sensitive to static discharges.
13.1.2 Required Equipment
1. PC with a serial port. A USB-to-serial adapter should be okay.
2. 9-pin DIN to 3.5mm male serial cable.
3. AES-6 application code:
InstallCD\Other_Software\710813Z - AES-6 Application\710813Z.mot
4. Hitachi Flash Development Toolkit:
InstallCD\3rd_Party_Software\Hitachi_FDT\fdt3_04.exe
13.1.3 Procedure
1. Fit the AES-6 card to a parent unit.
2. There should be a jumper on J6. Move it to J3.
3. Reset or power-cycle the card so the jumper change takes effect.
4. Connect the serial cable to the front of the AES-6.
5. Run Flash Development Toolkit BASIC. Configure (Options->New Settings) as:
Select Device
H8S/2318F
Select Port COM1 (change to match COM port
present on the PC)
CPU Frequency 25.00000 MHz
Connection BOOT mode
Recommended Speed Turn off “Use Default” and set to 9600
Protection Automatic
Messaging
Advanced
