Direct upgrades are described in the section “V-Series – Upgrade via direct Ethernet
connection" on 110 of this manual. ECS upgrades operate in the same way as all
ECS based panel upgrades (described in "General Upgrading Panels via ECS" in
this manual).
In fact, the kernel, kernel root file system and application files are uploaded in a
single operation and cannot currently be updated individually. This may well change
in future releases.
11.6 Expansion Panels
The only upgradeable component in an expansion panel is the Display Module.
When the parent V-series panel has its Display Module updated, the updates are
automatically propagated to the expansion panels. However, this only occurs if the
expansion panel is plugged in at the time the parent panel is upgraded. Expansion
panels plugged in afterwards are not upgraded.
11.7 V-Series – Upgrade via direct Ethernet connection
11.7.1 Software and PC Setup
1. Unpack and install the TFTP server application as described in Appendix J.

2. Once installed run the TFTPUlil GUI program from ‘Programs’ and click on
‘Options’ on the toolbar.
