or ribbon is worn out.

Check that the ribbon is
installed properly. The ribbon
must not have any holes or
tears

Re-install the ribbon and
replace if necessary.

Defective print head,
improper head clearance,
improper print speed.

None.

Replace receipt printer.

Defective head solenoid
drivers.

None.

Replace Star Controller PCB
if replacing the receipt printer
didn't fix problem.
