3.7 Setting Up HDLM

HDLM includes functions like the load balancing function, the automatic failback

function, the error logging function, the audit logging function, etc. You can set up

these functions by using the

dlnkmgr

command's

set

operation or by using the

Options window of the HDLM GUI. The following subsections describe how to set up

HDLM functions by using the HDLM command's

set

operation. For details about the

Options window, see the HDLM GUI Help.
Notes:

Windows Server 2008 supports user account control (UAC). As a result, to

execute an HDLM command, perform one of the following:

Use the Administrator account to perform an operation.
If you are not logged on as Administrator, execute the

dlnkmgr

command

by using the Administrator: Command Prompt window.

The HDLM GUI is unavailable when HDLM is installed in the Server Core

environment of Windows Server 2008. Instead, use the HDLM command's

set
