SL-V-M-NOA-E

If the OSSD is not functioning normally, perform the following measures regardless of whether the display

lights indicate that the SL-V is in a lockout condition or not.

If the SL-V is not in the lockout condition

Countermeasure

All Indicators are
OFF including the
OSSD indicator.

The power is not turned ON or the power supply
voltage is insufficient.

Adjust the power supply voltage to be within the range of
specifications. Correctly wire the power supply.

"Examples of Wiring" (page 4-5)

Cables are disconnected or not connected
correctly

Check the connection and reconnect the cables if
necessary.

"Cable Connections" (page 3-11)

Only the OSSD
indicator lights in
red.

Are the beam axes properly aligned?

Perform optical alignment.

"Optical Alignment" (page 5-2)

Are there objects within the detection zone

Remove all objects from the detection zone.
Ensure the transmitter to receiver distance fall within the
specified range.

Is the transmitter to receiver distance within the
specified range?

Have dust or other particles adhered to the
detection surface, thus blocking the beam axes?

Clean the surface. Gently wipe the dirt away by using a
cloth dampened with a mild detergent.

The indicators do not
change no matter how
much optical alignment
is performed (The
OSSD indicator lights in
red, and one more bar
LED indicators light).

Is the interlock mode selection input
disconnected and the I/O monitoring is active?

Connect the interlock mode selection input correctly.

"Interlock Function" (page 2-7)
"I/O Monitoring Function" (page 2-50)

Cables are disconnected or not connected
correctly

Confirm all cables are connected correctly

"Unit connection cable" (page 3-13)

Beam axes are
aligned, but OSSD
does not turn ON.
(Center indicator and
bar LED shows "no
interruption".)

Is the interlock function set to manual mode?

During manual reset mode, OSSD only turns ON when
light is received from all of the beam axes and reset
input is activated.

"Interlock Function" (page 2-7)

Is the wait input active?

Correctly connect the wait input.

"Wait Input Function" (page 2-16)

Is the wait input active and connected correctly?

When connected in series, are the beam axes for
the other SL-V units aligned?

Check the status of the other SL-V units connected in
series.

Beam axes are
aligned, but
sometimes OSSD
turns OFF.

The receiver is affected by ambient light or light
from other photoelectric devices.

Shield the receiver from ambient light.

"Light Interference Prevention Method" (page 3-8)

The communication cable is affected by external
noise.

Keep the shield extending past each cable as short as
possible.

Check for noise around the cables.

The bar LED
indicators irregularly
light green or turn
OFF.

Is the optical alignment sufficient?

Confirm that the transmitter and receiver are aligned
correctly

"Optical Alignment" (page 5-2)

Is the transmitter to receiver distance within the
specified range?

Ensure the transmitter to receiver distance fall within the
specified range

Have dust or other particles adhered to the
surface, thus blocking the beam axes?

Clean the surface. Gently wipe the dirt away by using a
cloth dampened with a mild detergent.

The device
connected to the
OSSD turns ON and
off very quickly
(chattering).

The self-diagnosis function periodically turns
OFF OSSD, so the device may be recognizing
this short OFF signal.

Connect a device that will not detect the regular OSSD
off signal.

"OSSD" (page 2-5)

The bar LED
indicators other than
No. 3 are OFF.

The main unit of Ver. 3, and the sub unit of Ver. 2
or Ver. 1 are connected in series, and the fix
blanking function is enabled.

This is the specification. Continue operation.
