q For systems with a Profit Point console, demonstrate the following both with and
without a network:
q for SC III/POS WS, open a Profit Point session and switching back and forth
between Profit Point and SC III.
q Fuel only, cash, credit
q Merchandise only, cash, credit
q Combined fuel/merchandise, cash, credit
q Scanned item not on file
q Add item, add fuel
q Off hook, active payable pump menus, working sale, new merchandise
q Size (modifier keys), PLU key
q Change fuel prices from SC III
q Change PLU, UPC prices from Profit Point
q Shift break
q For systems with a receipt printer, demonstrate procedures for changing the
receipt paper, the ribbon and the self-test mode of operation as explained in the
Star Receipt Printer Manual.
q Demonstrate how to clean the reader at the island card reader unit.
Magnetic Card Reader
1. Use the GASBOY cleaning card. Order GASBOY P/N C08757 for a box of 50
cleaning cards.
2. Slide the cleaning card through several times.
3. Turn the card around and slide it through several times. By turning the card around,
you will use the entire cleaning area.
4. Clean the card reader at least once a week. The frequency of cleaning required depends
on the environment the system is in and how heavily it is used. Failure to clean the card
reader regularly could result in premature failure.
Optical Card Reader
1. Wrap a lint free cloth around an access card.
Do not use paper. It may tear and cause read errors.
2. Insert the card lengthwise and move it from side to side.

Note any remarks or comments from the customer in the space provided.
Have a responsible contact person sign the Start-up form and sign it yourself. This indicates that
the system has been accepted by the customer and the installation is approved by you.
