q Identify for the terminal operator, the different icons and the task bar on the NT
desktop. Explain how to use the Start button or icons to start programs. Explain how
to minimize a running program window, how to restore it from the task bar and how to
close it. Explain how to use the NT explorer to copy, rename, and delete files.
Explain how to shut down the PC. Show the site manager how to log on to NT as the
system adminstrator.
q Explain to the terminal operator how to open the SC III terminal session and how
to minimize it. Explain the importance of how to leave the SC III session running in
background. Explain how the PC/remote terminal responds to all commands. Review
the Site Manager’s Manual and all relevant commands. Have the terminal operator
perform the commands.
q Explain the importance and show how and when to use the backup commands.
q Refer the user to the PC, monitor, remote terminal, and printer manuals for any
periodic maintenance. Also review the data terminal switches, buttons, and LED’s for
proper settings and indications.
q Show the site manager and terminal operator how to dispense product by
initiating transactions with the customer’s cards at the island card reader unit on the
fuel island. If the customer’s cards are not available, use the test cards provided with
the system.
q For systems with a CheckPoint console, demonstrate the following both with and
without a network:
q
Fuel only sale, cash, credit
q Merchandise only sale, cash, credit
q Combined fuel/merchandise, cash, credit
q Move merchandise
q Safedrops, reversals, view sale, void item/ticket
q Change fuel prices from SC III
q Change PLU prices from SC III
q Shift break
