To answer a call from the main screen:

When your phone notifies you of an incoming call, drag to the right to answer the call.
Mute the Ringing Sound
You can mute the ringtone without rejecting the call by doing one of the following.

Press the Volume key down.

Place the phone screen-down on a level surface. See Motions and Gestures Settings for
options, including the Mute/pause motion to mute incoming calls by turning over the phone.
