Phone Basics
Your phone is packed with features that simplify your life and expand your ability to stay connected to
the people and information that are important to you. The following topics will introduce the basic
functions and features of your phone.

Power/Lock Key: Turns the phone or screen on or off, or locks the screen. Press and hold for a
Device options menu, where you can turn the phone off, restart the phone, or easily access
Airplane mode, Emergency Mode, and Mute, Vibrate, and Sound modes.

Proximity Sensors: Detect the presence of objects near the phone, such as when using air
gestures or motion settings. For example, while talking on the phone the sensors detect when it’s
near your ear and turn off the screen to prevent accidental key presses.

Front Camera: Allows you to take pictures and videos of yourself.

Edge Screen: The Edge screen provides convenient access to shortcuts, widgets, and features
that are most useful to you. Select and customize panels to make the Edge screen work for you.
