Hold Function
Measured values can be held and displayed. Furthermore, MEA-Mode combinations allow
the measurement of a variety of values, such as maximum and minimum values. The types
of measured values held vary with the MEA-Mode. Refer to MEA-Mode on page 5-33 for
details.
Measured values are held and displayed through the following functional components.
• Control panel
• Remote control console
• External I/O terminals
• RS-232C interface

Control Panel/Remote Control Console
If either the OUT1 or OUT2 measured value is displayed, the displayed value will be
held. If both OUT1 and OUT2 measured values are displayed, both values will be held.
Press the [HOLD] key.
If both values are displayed, the OUT
number selected on the screen will be kept
on hold. The display “HOLD” will appear on
the screen. To cancel the HOLD status,
press the [HOLD] key again.
Tips
By pressing the [ESC] key, the
measured value kept on hold will
be reset.

External I/O Terminals
Measured values will be held by short-circuiting the timing input terminal and COM
terminal together on the rear panel of the controller. Refer to Section 7 I/O Terminals on
page 7-1 for the external input terminals to be used.

RS-232C Interface
Commands sent by external devices through the RS-232C interface make it possible to
put measured values on hold. Refer to Section 8 RS-232C on page 8-1 for the com-
mands in detail.
