CAUTION
Be sure the process can be maintained in safe conditions before turning on
controller power. The controller may not be properly configured to meet
the specific requirements of the process until setup has been performed.
GENERAL PREPARATIONS
After installation is complete, begin setup by preparing the controller as
follows:
1. At ac power source, connect power to controller. When
power is turned on, the front panel character displays
illuminate. The display may hold or flash a [
POWER ]
[ FAILED ] message showing that power has been off.
2. If the controller is not in manual, press and release manual
key to enter manual mode. The MAN indicator will light.
3. Scroll to the next display (press and release scroll key).
Other power up diagnostic messages may appear as
described in Diagnostics. Scroll again to obtain process
input value on the middle display and percent controller
output on the lower display. The OUT indicator will light
when output is displayed.
4. Press the UP or DN key to adjust output to a safe value for
setup if necessary.
5. Press tag key to move to Displays Menu. The configuration
menus, Figure 14, can be reached by pressing the UP or
DN key. Use the configuration menus as described in the
data base reference tables to set the instrument up for
operation.
