INSTALLATION
PROCESS INPUT SIGNAL CONNECTIONS
Process input connections are shown as follows:
•
Thermocouple Inputs - see Figure 3
•
RTD Inputs - see Figure 4
•
mA Inputs from 2-Wire Transmitters - see Figure 5
•
mA Inputs from Non 2-Wire Transmitters - see Figure 6
•
Volt Inputs - see Figure 7
•
mV Inputs - see Figure 8
•
Digital Inputs - see Figure 9
•
Motorized Valve Inputs - see Figure 10
•
Slidewire Inputs - see Figure 10
NOTE:
Input 2 is available when an option card is installed. Input 2 is an
isolated universal analog input which accepts mV dc, mA dc (2-wire
& non 2-wire), RTD, Thermocouple, and slidewire inputs. Input 2
connections are made as shown in Figures 3 through 10, using the
terminals identified as I/O 2
: General process input signal specifications are:
Open Input Fault Detection: Recover option is user configurable
Input Isolation:
Galvanic isolation using transformers and optical
isolators. The process input circuit is isolated; however, if
a field input is completely floating, it may pick up
electrical noise. Field inputs should be grounded in the
field or at the instrument.
Input Resistance: 10M ohms minimum
Input Common Mode Rating: 45V dc
Common Mode Rejection: 120 dB @ 50/60 Hz
Normal Mode Noise Filter: 20 dB minimum @ 60 Hz
Maximum Normal Mode Voltage: 30V dc (except current input)
Display Accuracy: Input accuracy±one least significant display digit
