Overview of PCI-DSS Security Requirements
The new Payment Card Industry (PCI) and Data Security Standards (DSS) will be required by
all Fuel Management Systems accepting Credit Cards. The primary purposes of the new
standards are to secure the transmission and access to acquired credit card information and
stored credit card transactions. This requires a number of software and procedural changes in
the way the CFN III is upgraded, operated, and managed. A summary of the software changes
is included in
“Before You Begin” on page 9 . The onsite procedural recommendations are
discussed in the MDE-4759 CFN III Payment Application Best Practices Implementation
Requirements.
