Installing/Upgrading the Network

46

Ensure that the network is setup properly. Whenever installing or upgrading PCI-compliant
software, one of the likely additional changes is an upgrade of the network version. The new
version is loaded when you perform the “Reboot;A” command.

On an Install of PCI-compliant Software

The network version will change to meet PCI requirements. The network settings must be
reloaded. You require the printed or saved file with the previous recorded information to
reload the network setting.

On an Upgrade of PCI-compliant Software

The network version may change. If you followed the backup recommendations in this manual
you will have the required printed or file backup required to reload the network setting if
required.

Note: You must always have a copy, either electronic or printed of the required PC Loop

Application manuals for reference. The manuals are available on the SC3 tower desktop
“CFN Help” icon.

Final Checks and Tasks

47

Verify that the Date and Time is set correctly on CFN III.

• Check the Date and Time settings by typing “PR DA”.
• A new date and time can be set by typing, “LO DA”.
• Enter the information requested on the screen, always using two digits. For example, if the

month is March, enter 03 for the month. The system will also prompt for the time to be
entered in a two-digit format. Enter the hours in a 24-hour clock format, such as 17 to
represent 5:00 P.M.

48

Refer to MDE-4759 CFN III Payment Application Best Practices Implementation
Requirements. General recommendations for PCI compliance are in this manual. Neither
Gasboy nor the installing technician can be responsible for maintaining a site’s PCI
compliance.

The site’s PCI Delegate is responsible for setting up and maintaining PCI standards.

• Requirements for removing non-secure information from the system are in this manual.

This upgrade step is required in order to meet security requirements when upgrading from
Windows NT to Windows XPE.

• Windows XPE PC administrator password must be set up.
• Remote Access recommendations must be given.
• Security recommendations must be provided.
• Windows XPE-restricted services must be discussed.

49

After the install or upgrade is complete all site equipment controlled or connected to the SC3
tower must be verified, to ensure they are working properly. Network authorization and
settlement must be verified. Profit Point functionality and reports must also be verified.

This completes the installation upgrade process.
