Note the I/O ranges for each of the CyberSerial PCI 1 6C550 entries. The I/O ranges in

Figure I-1

(disregarding the 4 leading zeros) are as follows:

• CyberSerial PCI 16C550 (COM7) = [A400 - A407]
• CyberSerial PCI 16C550 (COM8) = [A800 - A807]
• CyberSerial PCI 16C550 (COM9) = [AC00 - AC07]
• CyberSerial PCI 16C550 (COM10) = [B000 - B007]

The COM port addresses must be changed from the default values assigned by

Windows XPE (COM7 through COM10 in the

Figure I-1

) to COM3 through COM6.

These addresses also need to be in the correct order. Set the COM port and I/O ranges in
ascending order, that is, the COM port with the lowest I/O range as COM3; the COM port with
the next level I/O range as COM4; and so on so that the highest I/O range is set to COM6. In
the example above, COM7 will be changed to COM3 because it has the lowest I/O range. The
COM8 will be changed to COM4, COM9 will be changed to COM5, and COM10 will be
changed to COM6.
