Appendix D: Master Password

Master Password

The Master Password generated by the following procedure will allow a “one-time” sign on. If
you allow the sign on to time out, then you must go through the Master Password generation
process again to receive a new Master Password. Successful Master Password entry signs you
on as a level 10 User. Users 97, 98, and 99 are reserved users. User 99 is reserved for CFN
Network sites. Users 97 and 98 are reserved for the Master Password process.

Master Password Generation Procedure

Contact the Gasboy Help Desk at 1-800-444-5529 to obtain a Master Password. A two-part
code must be created (CPU ID and Passkey) for the Help Desk to generate the Master
Password. To create the correct two-part code the “Backup Password” in Sys_par on page 1
must be known. This is generally “Gasboy”. To create the two-part code, at the sign on
prompt, type 97,(Backup Password/Sys_par/Page1), example “97,GASBOY”. Passwords are
case-sensitive.

For example,

97,GASBOY “press Enter” system responds with:

CPU ID 12345678

PASS KEY F7E1 3BDF 186C 14BD

The CPU ID will always be eight digits. In the case of a SC3 board set without a CPU ID
loaded, the number CPU ID must show all eight digits as 9s. The Pass Key will always be

16 digits in four groups of four alphanumeric characters. This is for readability only. Clarity in
relaying the eight digits CPU ID and 16 alphanumeric characters of the Pass Key to the
Gasboy Help Desk are essential. Numbers must be read as triplets and pairs when possible.
For letters the Phonics Alphabet must be used.

Using the example above:

CPU ID of 12345678 must be read as, (One twenty three, Four fifty six, Seventy eight)
