This screen will allow you to view and configure the following modem properties from the Port Settings tab.
1. B ITS P ER S ECOND . Baud rate setting for the terminal's modem.
2. D ATA B ITS . Number of data bits.
3. P ARITY . Parity type: even or odd.
4. S TOP B ITS . Number of stop bits.
5. F LOW C ONTROL . Choose the type of flow control to use if required. In most cases the default
settings for the parameters in the configure dialog will satisfy your modem communication require-
ments; however, in some cases changes may be required to meet unique requirements. Usually, these
will be determined by your processor and configured by your service provider.
Once the necessary parameters have been selected, press the LEAR > key until the “P ORT S ETTINGS ” tab
is highlighted. Press the Right (>) arrow key to display the parameters for the “C ALL O PTIONS ”. Use the
LEAR > key to highlight the parameter that will be configured.
If the parameter is enabled by placing a check in a box, highlight the parameter and press the key
to place or remove a check from the box. If the parameter is a numeric value, press the
LEAR > key until the
entry area is highlighted. Enter the number directly from the key pad. If the entry is a letter of the alphabet,
open the virtual key pad and use it for entering letters of the alphabet.
