Cluster Concepts and Terminology
What Is a Cluster?
A cluster is a group of two or more independent computers that appear
on the network as a single system. This group of computers is managed
as a single system and is designed to:
• Ensure that mission-critical applications and resources are as highly
available as possible
• Tolerate component failures
• Support either the addition or subtraction of components
