How to Specify a
Disk Image
Section You can specify a disk image section in two ways. In case of a zero
downtime backup (snapshot or split mirror), you must use the second
way.
• \\.\<drive_letter> , for example: \\.\E:
• \\.\PHYSICALDRIVE# ,
where # is the current number of the disk you want to back up.
For example: \\.\PHYSICALDRIVE3

Number) On Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003 systems, you can find the current
numbers of your disks (as well as the drive letters) by clicking
Control
Panel , Administrative Tools , Computer Management , Storage , Disk
Management .
On Windows NT systems, you can find the current numbers of your disks
(as well as the drive letters) by clicking
Start , Programs ,
Administrative Tools , Disk Administrator .
