MESSAGE TEL. indicator and, thereby, select the TAD Reception
mode when a separately purchased telephone with answering
machine capabilities is connected to this fax machine.

MANUAL RX. key…Press this key when you want to switch
between the Auto Fax Reception and Manual Fax Reception
modes.

MEMORY TX. key…Press this key when you want to switch
between the Memory Transmission and Direct Feed
Transmission modes.

REGISTER key…Press this key when you want to register
information related to facsimile use.

CONFIGURE key…Press this key when you want to configure
settings related to facsimile use.

PRINT REPORTS key…Press this key when you want to print
out a desired report or list.

INFORMATION key…Press this key when you want to find out
whether a certain fax transmission or fax reception was carried
out properly. The status of the 10 most recent fax transmissions
and the 10 most recent fax receptions can be checked in the
message display. Press this key also when you want to cancel or
modify information related to communications that are in memory
waiting for a start time.

DUPLEX TX key (SPACE key)…Press this key when you want to
perform Duplex Transmission procedures and transmit duplex (2-
sided) documents.
* When entering characters, this key serves as the SPACE key to
enable you to enter a blank space between characters.

ALTERNATE DISPLAY key (CAPS LOCK key)…When carrying
out 2 operations simultaneously (Dual Access function) – such as
copying during a fax transmission – the message display can be
switched during the time that this key is held down to enable
monitoring of the background operation.
* When entering characters, this key serves as the CAPS LOCK
key.
