10 – Motion Compensation
In this example, the traverse segments are 152.4 mm (6 inches) long. The first move in the program is a reverse move to
remove any backlash. The next move is toward the first target. At the first target, the program pauses motion and prompts
the user to begin mapping the axis. The laser interferometer records the position deviation at each target along the run. In
this example, the laser interferometer will record the position deviation at 52 targets, or 26 targets on each run.
