SECTION 24 CONTROL POINTS AND SPEED OF OPERATION

The XPC Gateway operates in a “round-robin” fashion gathering data from each unit in sequence. For
faster refresh of information for each information point, unused points can be disabled using the
“AppLoader” program. For more information see the AppLoader program User Guide on the CD
provided.

Some points are disabled as default. For example, “Net Direct Drive” and “Requested Outlet Temp” are
disabled for Modulex boilers. If Remote Setpoint is being sent directly to the boilers by network
communication, these points must be enabled.

SECTION 25 MODBUS TIMERS

The program files found on the CD and online contain two Modbus timers “Modbus Response Time” and
“Modbus Interpacket Delay”. These timers can be adjusted by the user by means of the AppLoader
program. Following is an explanation of these two timers and when the user might want to modify their
values. The default values for each of the program files are shown below in Table 7. Their basic
definitions are as follows.

Modbus Response Time
– This defines the maximum time that the XPC will wait for a response from
AERCO equipment.

Modbus Interpacket Delay – This tells the XPC how long to wait between requests for information.
