Sending Data in Multi-head Mode
Communication Format
The following communication formats are available.
When an ID number is appended
mm : ID numbers (0 to 31)
nnnn : Data size (4 bytes) : nnnn is indicated with the sum of the numbers of the characters of
(1) and (2).
Data : Data sent from the head
• Read data
• ERROR (Read error)
• OVER (Buffer overflow)
• ERRmm (mm: Error code)
When an ID number is not appended
The ID number of the head connected (%Pmm-) is deleted.
Select this format when it is not necessary to know which head read the data.
nnnn : Data size (4 bytes) : nnnn is indicated with the sum of the numbers of the characters of
(1) and (2).

It is also possible to change up to 5 free characters.
Error Code Settings
Error codes are sent when BL/SR/RF Series devices connected to the N-410 cannot read
data.This can be set to any string of up to eight characters. However, it is recommended that you
use the default settings. The default settings are as follows.
• Error code setting: ERROR
N-410 error codes can be set to any string of characters. However, do not
change the error codes on the BL/SR/RF Series devices.
