Settings
N-410 Settings
Make the following settings for the N-410 in the AutoID Navigator.
1. Select either the "Multi-drop link mode" or "BL Series Multi-head mode" settings under "Main
setting" to match the network you are using.
2. Register the connection types and ID numbers of the code readers to be connected under
"Slave settings".
3. Set the communication protocol under "PLC setting".
• Set this to "Enable".
• Set the "DM head address." Refer to
"Details of DM assignments" (Page 7-6)(Page 7-10) for
more information on DM assignments.
• Set the "station number". Set the station number of the PLC to match the unit number.
• Enable or disable "Trigger area input".
• Set "KEYENCE KV Series", "Mitsubishi MELSEC Series" or "Omron SYSNAC Series" or under "PLC
type selection" to match the type of PLC being used.
4. Change the settings for baud rate, data bits and stop bit length to match those of the host
computer under "RS-232C settings" to match the PLC you are using.
The factory default settings for the N-410 are as follows.
* "RTS/CTS" is disabled when using PLC control.
5. Change the settings for baud rate, data bits and stop bit length to match those of the host
computer under "RS-485 settings" to match the BL Series devices that are connected. Set the
baud rate to 38400 bit/s or less.
The following settings will also be required if using "Multi-head mode BL (SR) Series".
6. Make the following settings under "Main setting".
• Trigger notification method
"Normal" "Interference suppression" "Broadcast".
If "Interference suppression" is selected, set the "Interference suppression timer".
(50 to 2550)
• Read mode Single/Multi
• Data transmission timing After read/after trigger off
• Trigger Input Settings
Measurement method (Level/One-shot)
Polarity (Norm. open/Norm. close)
Input time constant (2 ms/10 ms)
Trigger input on/off commands (the default setting is LON/LOFF)
