Common problems
This section lists some common problems and their solutions. If you are unable
to resolve the problem, contact a authorized Magnia service provider or your
sales office.
POWER indicator does not light
Is the server connected to an AC outlet?
Is the AC switch on?
Is the server operating normally? If so, the POWER LED may be defective.
Screen is blank
Is the power switch on?
Is the keyboard securely connected?
Is the video signal cable connected correctly?
Is the monitor connected to an AC outlet? Is it switched on?
Are the brightness and contrast of the monitor adjusted correctly?
Are the display switch settings correct?
Is the security mode on?
Characters displayed on the screen are distorted or abnormal
Are the brightness, contrast, and other monitor controls adjusted correctly?
Refer to the monitor user’s manual.
Are the video signal cable and the monitor’s power cable connected
correctly?
FDD indicator does not light
Is the floppy disk drive correctly installed? Are its cables securely
connected?
Are the settings for the floppy disk drive correct?
HDD indicator does not light
Is the SCSI cable inserted into the SCSI controller correctly?
Is the hard disk drive installed correctly?
SCSI hard disk drives do not respond
As a system requirement, internal hard disk drives are not started at power up.
Problems may arise if a third-party SCSI controller fails to send a “start unit”
