In the navigation frame, expand the Hosts tree. A list is displayed of all hosts that are within the access
scope of the user.

Expand the tree of the desired host. The navigation frame displays File Systems and Device Files.

Choose File Systems. The File Systems subwindow is displayed.

Select Add File System from the File Systems subwindow. The Add File System - Step 1 of 3 dialog box
is displayed.
The following sections show the Add File System dialog boxes and describe the settings to be specified at
each step.
IMPORTANT:
To verify that the correct content was included in each step, you can click the Back button to
return to the previous step. However, if you return to the previous step and then go to the next step, the
selected volume may change, as Provisioning Manager selects the appropriate volume.
7-3-1 Selecting a Volume
In this step, the volume to be used for file system creation is viewed and selected.

File System dialog box for selecting the volume (step 1 of 3).
IMPORTANT:
The Add File System - Step 1 of 3 dialog box is displayed only for volumes for which LUN
security is set for the host. Volumes used by hosts for which security is switched off or storage subsystems
that do not have the security facility are not displayed.

To select the volume (step 1 of 3 in Add File System):

Depending on the contents you want to display, set the following item on the Add File System – Step 1 of
3 dialog box (refer to
):
Displayed Volumes: Select the volume display range.
•
Usable Volumes: Of the volumes that the host can use with LUN security, a list is displayed of the
usable volumes and volumes usable under certain conditions.
•
All Volumes: A list is displayed of all volumes that are set to use LUN security with that host.
A maximum of 10 volumes are displayed at a time. When there are 11 or more volumes to be displayed,
the eleventh and subsequent volumes can be viewed by selecting another range in RANGE:
A maximum of 16,384 volumes can be displayed by switching pages.

Select the desired volume from the displayed volume list. Select the radio button of the volume to be used
to create the file system by Volume ID.
NOTE:
From Subsystem, select the storage subsystem from a pull-down list to display a dialog box
with only the volumes from the selected subsystem.
Click the Show Data Path button to display a dialog box with the following path information: HBA WWN,
storage subsystem port, storage subsystem volume.
