Hardware Description
The PCI Express™ system features Summit Analyzers.
2.1 System
Components
Summit T28™ analyzer system
DC Power Adaptor, 12 volts, and AC power cable
USB cable
PETracer Software program CD‐ROM
(optional) probes and interposers (see
“Interposers and Probes” on page 11
2.2
Host Machine Requirements
The Summit T28 connects to a host machine. Please consult the readme file on the
installation CD for the latest host machine requirements.
2.3
Summit T28 Front Panel Description
When powered on, the Summit T28 activates the user‐accessible controls and LEDs on the
front panel.
WARNING:
Do not open the enclosure. There are no operator serviceable parts inside.
Refer servicing to Teledyne LeCroy.
The controls and LEDs are:
Power LED: Lights when power is On.
Status LED: Displays the connection status of the link.
Trigger LED: Lights when Summit T28 triggers on an event.
Upstream [7:0] connector: Connection to the probe for the capture of upstream
direction of the link.
Speed LEDs: Indicate speed setting the analyzer is using for Upstream direction.
Ref Clk In (Reference Clock In) connector: Provides an optional alternative con‐
nection from an external reference clock source to the Summit T28 analyzer.
Note: In standard configuration, the Summit T28 analyzer uses the reference
clock from a probe cable from the interposer.
Downstream [7:0] connector: Connection to the probe for the capture of down‐
stream direction of the link.
