3.1 Relationship between CLI types 1 and 2
3.1.1 Relationship between CLI types 1 and 2
The command system of CLI type 1 or 2 is selected to perform the configuration
definition of the router. CLI type 1 is a configuration definition command system
peculiar to GR2000. CLI type 2 is a general-purpose command system that is
customized to the user who has been using other than GR2000 until now. The
function that is supported using CLI type 2 is the subset of CLI type 1. Use CLI type
1 therefore when utilizing the GR2000 function fully during setting.
The items that are supported using CLI type 2 are as follows:
Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, Serial, PRI, BRI, ATM, T1, E1,
Multilink, VLAN, AUX, RM Ethernet, Null interface line definition (IPv4)
PPPoE
RIP, OSPF, static route
Filter (IP filter, route filter)
QoS
SNMP, syslog, NTP, DNS resolver
With CLI type 2, a Web browser cannot be used as an operation terminal.
In this manual, the mentioned CLI indicates both CLI types 1 and 2 unless otherwise
specified.
3.1.2 Confirmation of CLI type
It can be confirmed with the procedure below whether the router is being operated
using CLI type 2.
1. Enter "?" with the command prompt displayed.
2. "[Universal CLI (CLI type 2) MODE]" is displayed at the beginning of a command
list when a router is operated using CLI type 2.
