(1) Assurance
on
RP
[Example]
To assure the status of each RP, enter
show router
command from the device
management terminal as follows:
> show router [CR]
The result will appear as in Figure 8-35. This example assumes that the RP No. 1 has
been added or swapped and hence the operator wanted to see if the new RP1 is
working.
The subject RP is operating normally (in this example, “RP1: active”)
If the expected result does not appear, ensure the following:
When the RP does not operate normally (“RP1: active” is not given):
1. Is the RP installed?
2. Is there any loose contact on the RP or the corresponding NIF?
3. Is startup of the subject router complete?
4. Is startup of the subject RP complete?

Assurance on Ethernet/Gigabit Ethernet Line
[Example]
To assure the Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet line, enter the
show nif (LAN)
command
from the device management terminal as follows:
>
show nif 2 [CR]
The result will appear as Figure 8-36, which assumes that the line No. 0 in NIF No. 2
has been defined as AutoNegotiate and connected to the hub with AutoNegotiate
setting. In this example the line is enabled because of the following:
The subject NIF is operating normally (in this example, “NIF2: active”).
The subject line is operating normally (in this example, “Line0: active up”).
The line type meets the device (in this example, “100BASE-TX (auto), full”).
