Checkout on ATM VC Connection
Whether the VC connection is established or not can be checked by the
ping atm
command. The command takes effect only if the other end device supports F5 OAM
loopback cell.

closed
The operation of the
corresponding line is stopped by
using a close command or when
an unsupported service
category pattern is specified.
Put the corresponding line into the operating state by
using a free command after confirming that a cable is
mounted in the line being used. Change the unsupported
service category pattern to a support pattern when it is
specified.

test
This line is being tested using
the test interfaces command.
To restart communication, stop line test by using no test
interfaces command.
7
fault
This line has hardware error.
Obtain the log message for the subject line using show
logging command, and take necessary troubleshooting
actions in accordance with the obtained log message
(Chapter 5, “Log Messages,” in GR2000 Operations Log
and MIB Reference).

initialized
This line is restarting after error
detection.
Same as above.
9
locked
Operation of this line is
suspended by configuration
information.
Ensure that a cable is connected to the line to be used,
and set this line to active by altering the configuration
information.

may have an internal fault, or the other
end device may be powered off or
failing.
2. If the NIF status or line status is “fault,”
the cause is this occurrence of fault.

the operating status of the other end
device.
2. Obtain the log message for the subject line
