Testing on WAN Line
Testing on a WAN line is performed as several kinds of loopback line test and bit
error rate test (BERT). As shown in Figure 8-40, the frame loopback positions differ
depending on the type of testing.

Remote Line Loopback Test applies only to T1 and non-multiplexed T3 lines.
Note 4:
Network Line Loopback Test applies only to T1, E1, non-multiplexed T3, non-multiplexed E3,
multiplexed E3, multiplexed T3, OC-3c (8 ports) POS, OC-12c (4 ports) POS and OC-48c POS
lines.
Note 5:
Network Payload Loopback Test applies only to T1 and E1 lines.
Note 6:
Remote Line Inband Loopback Test and Remote Payload Loopback Test apply only to T1 line.
